Week 7

Holland's  Reflection

Caldwell  "pep talk" for Math Night  9.25

Hang in there!  September through November is the most challenging time of the school year for educators. I typically find myself feeling fatigued and frequently reviewing my calendar for the next school “break”.  What helps me get through these months is to get a little exercise to improve my diet before the November and December holiday period.  Never forget that teaching is physically and emotionally demanding and you must make a concerted effort to stay healthy and positive.
If you have not had a chance to see a Soccer game, please come check out our team. The Soccer team is  playing great team ball and defeated Hapeville this Friday.  Our Math Night this week was a huge success as students stepped up and conducted the mini lessons for parents. Great Job Math Department! Also, congratulations to Mr. Goins for being named the "Teacher of the Month" for September.

Highlights:  Mrs. Belsar prepares students for upcoming Academic Competition.

Focus on Teaching and Learning
The administrative team has completed the TKES training, and we plan to redeliver and review the performance standards during grade level meetings October 8 - October 15, more information will be sent via e-mail.  Our current walkthrough instrument is aligned with TKES standards.  CCMS walkthrough form has been placed in your mail box for review, please become familar with the  "10" performance standards and review the evidence that we will discuss the next cuple of weeks.
 Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment (C.I.A)
·         CBT Checkpoints: Math and Science administered the checkpoints online this week.  Continue to stress that every assessment is important and be sure to monitor students during the assessment period.  We had too many students that forgot to click “submit” test and did not complete the test.   Every assessment will have time limits and students should be conscious of time limitations while approaching benchmarks with a high level of intensity
  •  Mrs. Holt has begun working with teachers on reviewing data to drive instructional improvement. Data meetings during the next couple of weeks will focus on using the checkpoints and common assessment data to better differentiate instruction.
